What A Great Smile!

Mike Huckabee, learn how to spell it and never forget that smile.  Let's use the KISS theory here.  First, you can picture this guy's mug in the big brown frame already.  Second, he's not monotone, he's not angry and the proverbial "looks the part" more than any other candidate, except Romney......Third, every word he speaks, he speaks with honesty and clarity.  Here is a leader.  While others tonight, including the Democrats, were picturesque in their painted words of a despondent America saying they were going to "change " it, Mike Huckabee solemly asked the American people to join him on the path.  He'll have his tests down the road, but he'll be there in the end.

Words Need To Have Meaning

Listening to Hugh Hewitt on the radio this afternoon in Hawaii got me thinking about "words" and when you put them together, what are they supposed to mean?  When you read a newspaper about a particular subject it should state facts and facts only!  Anything beyond that is conjecture or opinions.  Nowadays, you must be on guard to know the difference and try to separate the facts from opinions.  The normal red-blooded American has a very hard time unless you can do some heavy research that takes time.  Consequently, many people rely on that source (the newspaper) to give them the knowledge they need to talk and convey thoughts at the water cooler.  Here is what I think is going on across the country...  depending on where you live, depends heavily on how slanted, opinionated, contrived or even blasphemous the news can be.  Hawaii is definitely a blue state and the two newspapers report stories biased heavily to the left.  We can't even get all the candidates for office to show their party affiliations on campaign literature for the candidates fear of voters not seeing past that and getting their message.  Headline:  "U.S. Refuses To Negotiate With North Korea".  Truth or Lie?? (Deception to the max).  What about "North Korea Wants Bilateral Talks"?  Or "U.S. Proposes 6 Nation Talks With North Korea".  Get the point?  I get it but how many voters on November 7th that actually vote will use common sense and wisdom to elect our officials.  I will not sit home and refuse to vote because I have faith that there are many people that think like me!

Gay Rights? Go To Disneyworld

My wife and two kids were ecstatic about their first trip to Disneyworld.  Our trip had been well planned during the Memorial Day Holiday and beyond.  However, when we got to our first park we were astonished to realize and see that something was not quite right!  Somehow our vacation, WITH THE FAMILY, was scheduled right smack dab in the middle of GAY DAY celebrations.  Now I consider myself worldly and abreast on most issues that surround our great land, yet I was initially shocked and bewildered that I could be led to a place like Disneyworld and not even be aware of this until I was in line for a ride and watching two guys , well, sucking face!  Now I'm not naive and even my kids can understand certain situations when put RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR FACE!  Now, it wasn't that simple of a situation!  We were being inundated with this behavior all around us.  Many tee-shirts on these folks were down right nasty!  My youngest boy asked me, "dad, what does "Spitters Are Quitters" mean?" and this was pretty much the mildest form of "FREE Speech" we saw.  Where's our right as a family to not be subjected to this or Disney posting on their website or agents letting us know this was happening during OUR vacation.  Again, I'm not naive and make appeals occasionally to being more receptive to certain rights but, Come on!  Let's get real!  Being "straight", I still have some moral fiber in me and never flaunt my inner thoughts, especially at Disney Theme Parks.  What's this world coming to?  Are we going to abandon all sense of decency and accept all this behavior or can we make a stand so another parent standing in line at Disney doesn't have to experience what we did?  I still think I have my rights too!!

Honey, What's A Blog?

As I sat and typed out my very first blog entry today, I realized I really didn't know what I was doing but I felt a need for my voice to be heard, or at least read!  I commented on the situation with North Korea in that first blog and realized very quickly that the newer comments I made about the establishment of my blog caught the eye of Hugh Hewitt!!  My God, on the very first day I hit pay dirt....I'm famous!  No, not really but the news did travel fast and it was read.  What a vehicle we have here!  Americans all over the country have a real chance to put their thoughts in verse and check on other opinions in a FLASH!  It's about knowledge not ideology.  It's about the thirst for knowledge and a means to satisfy it without writing a novel and hoping it will sell or marketed correctly.  Newspapers, Television, and periodicals better smell the coffee cause we just might reach each other quicker and for the greater good.  Open my head and let it pour in and give me the courage to dabble in writing as well as researching others opinions.  Let me make a better decision with all the tools available not from a snippet from the 6pm news.....

North Korea's Rice Bowl

With recent events unfolding on North Korea's defiance in the face of world leaders, suppose they really meant what they said?  Do you think the world will dwell in diplomacy or wonder what's in their rice bowl.  A bad analogy, I know but NK's leaders know their's is full and they are ready to manipulate World powers to get what their people don't have.....Recognition on the World scene and rice in the bowl.  These are things people of North Korea can only hope for while pondering their miserable existence in a country that literally has nothing to offer world partners.  These events that are unfolding will bolster "at home" opinion to the point of frenzy and play right into Kim's hand.  His people will rally to the call (still, with no rice) and make him the dictator that he is.  It's a shame that most people are not aware that this country is fenced in and people are shot if caught trying to flee the country.  Kim's support is vocal while at military rallies and the such, but the people are aching to get out!  I say we tackle this issue first!
