My wife and two kids were ecstatic about their first trip to Disneyworld. Our trip had been well planned during the Memorial Day Holiday and beyond. However, when we got to our first park we were astonished to realize and see that something was not quite right! Somehow our vacation, WITH THE FAMILY, was scheduled right smack dab in the middle of GAY DAY celebrations. Now I consider myself worldly and abreast on most issues that surround our great land, yet I was initially shocked and bewildered that I could be led to a place like Disneyworld and not even be aware of this until I was in line for a ride and watching two guys , well, sucking face! Now I'm not naive and even my kids can understand certain situations when put RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR FACE! Now, it wasn't that simple of a situation! We were being inundated with this behavior all around us. Many tee-shirts on these folks were down right nasty! My youngest boy asked me, "dad, what does "Spitters Are Quitters" mean?" and this was pretty much the mildest form of "FREE Speech" we saw. Where's our right as a family to not be subjected to this or Disney posting on their website or agents letting us know this was happening during OUR vacation. Again, I'm not naive and make appeals occasionally to being more receptive to certain rights but, Come on! Let's get real! Being "straight", I still have some moral fiber in me and never flaunt my inner thoughts, especially at Disney Theme Parks. What's this world coming to? Are we going to abandon all sense of decency and accept all this behavior or can we make a stand so another parent standing in line at Disney doesn't have to experience what we did? I still think I have my rights too!!
